La Carbonera is also known as "Tochecito" or “Forest of Wax Palms” and has the same attractions as the Cocora Valley but multiplied by six. There everything is bigger, natural and better preserved, plus there you can enjoy the densest wax palm forest in Colombia. The ascent is a bit difficult and can only be done in a 4×4 Campero type vehicle which we have at your disposal so that you can live the best adventure with the best of landscapes.

Rural Adventure Carbonera Expedition

ITINERARY

The adventure begins in the Salento park, where you will board a Campero-type 4x4 Vehicle bound for the famous "Carbonera", "palm forest" or "Tochecito" located in the Municipality of Cajamarca, Tolima, during the trip of approximately 18 kilometers we will make a stop in order to have a snack, as well as enjoy the beautiful landscapes that the central mountain range of the Andes offers us. Upon arriving at our destination, the "La Carbonera" we will take a route of approximately 3 kilometers (Duration from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours), in the middle of the palm forest, then we will cool off with the crystal clear water of a beautiful waterfall , to later have lunch and return to Salento.
